WOODY ALLEN AND HIS NEW ORLEANS JAZZ BAND TO PLAY EXCLUSIVE LONDON CONCERT

LONDON, October 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band will play an exclusive London concert on Sunday 19th December at the Hammersmith Apollo. Following recent sell out concert tours in Spain, Germany, France and Italy, Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz band will play in London for the first time since the famous 'Wild Man Blues' concert tour of 1996.
Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band comprises Woody Allen (Clarinet), Musical Director Eddy Davis (Banjo), Conal Fowkes (Double Bass) , Robert Garcia (Drums), Cynthia Sayer (Piano), Simon Wettenhall (Horn) and Jerry Zigmont on Trombone. Since the 1970's the band have played every Monday night in New York, first at Michael's Pub and currently at the Carlyle Hotel. During the summer of 2004 the band played sell out concerts at Peralada in Spain, the Monaco Red Cross Gala and Berlin, Stuttgart and Munich and in recent years they have also performed in Spain ( Barcelona, Salamanca and San Sebastian) and in France (Paris and Vienne) and Italy (Rome).
Along with London, Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band will play further European concerts throughout December; Venice (15th), Paris (20th) , Madrid (27th), Bilbao (29th) and Lisbon on New Years Eve.
Woody Allen's latest film "Melinda and Melinda", a critical success at the opening night of the recent San Sebastian Film Festival ,will show at the London Film Festival on Monday November 1st . The film opens in the UK through Fox Searchlight on March 25th 2005. He recently began post-production on his London film "Match Point" starring Scarlet Johansson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Emily Mortimer, Matthew Goode, Brian Cox and Penelope Wilton. "Match Point" will be completed and first shown in 2005.
